I read! I do, I swear I read!

For the most part, I am a pink frilly cover 'chick lit' kinda girl but I can also get deep. A some what recent book that moved me whether is was "embellished" or not was A Million Little Pieces. I cried through most of it, loved my parents a zillion times harder and more intensely and thanked god for not having an addiction of any kind.

a book that has stayed with me and will stay with me forever is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. it makes me want to be a better person and give and give till I have nothing left. for my children, I want to be that tree trunk at the end. also, The Catcher in the Rye I have such an appreciation for all things New England and Northeast. and as product of boarding schools and prep schools, I know we all go a little Holden Caufield sometimes. and The Great Gatsby because don't we all want to be rich, fabulous and sometimes someone we're not?

oooh and last one, The Polar Express. its still one that even at 26 I will read with my parents around Christmas and become emotional. because I never want to not here that bell in life. I never want to give up on the impossible and think, I'm too old to believe. because we're never too old to believe in anything or anyone one. The Polar Express will be on the those stories, that my children will hopefully read to their children and remember when.

things that make me laaaaazy!

of course April thru October (God willing) it's all about the 162 game baseball season... everything else comes 2nd.

but I'm obsessed with any shows on HBO (Big Love, Entourage, True Blood) and Showtime (United States of Tara, DEXTER, Brotherhood, Californication).

can't forget 24, Lost, The Office, Real Houswives of Anywhere, Project Runway, E! True Hollywood Story, Intervention.

and I'm sure there are plenty I'm forgetting but these alone make me sound like I spend entirely TOO much time in front of the TV so I'll leave it alone.

My status and mood

Mood:
whats a bigger word for loved?

a lil bit ali

Sometimes when I can't find the words I wanna say, I borrow them from people and places that inspire me. And of course, in true New Yawker style I borrowed this one from my girl Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City:

"Maybe mistakes are what make our fate... without them what would shape our lives? Maybe if we had never veered off course we wouldn't fall in love, have babies, or be who we are. After all, things change, so do cities, people come into your life and they go. But it's comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart... and if you're very lucky, a plane ride away"

I'm a simple girl that believes, in fate, consequences, words and gestures. And when people stand up, make the ultimate gesture and allow themselves to be vulnerable, the bitter, painful pill known as forgiveness becomes that much easier to swallow. And now I'm learning those acts of forgiveness and vulnerability are followed by blissful acts of love!

I'm a 26 year young mom of the sweetest little slice of blond hair, blue eye heaven. I live in New Jersey right out side of New York. I love my life, my friends & family, the Yankees, shopbop.com, music, laughing, bows & ruffles, watching my kid laugh, laying out on the beach, sweet loves with Southern accents, breakfast food, Uggs and sweaters in the fall, and of course the love and support I get from my Yuku friends.

CCLBW LOVE.

"Oh the places you'll go... you have brains in your head, feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself in any direction you choose." - Dr. Seuss
